Academic Libraries

Overview
CDygert Solutions has substantial experience working with academic libraries. Prior to starting CDygert Solutions, Claire Dygert served as Director of E-Resources and Digital Services for the Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC) which provides services to the libraries in Florida’s public higher education system, for over ten years. Claire joined FLVC after serving as a tenured library faculty member at American University Library in Washington, DC. Claire has built on this experience to work with academic clients through CDygert Solutions.
Examples of projects we have conducted with academic libraries include:
A Membership Value Study and Dues Allocation Review for a large academic library consortium to assess the value that members receive from centralized services, and how that value translates to membership dues. A study of dues formulas at comparative consortia was undertaken to develop and model alternative and modernized member dues formula.
A Review of a Statewide Digital Library Content Program which investigated the effectiveness of a large, statewide academic library electronic resource purchasing program, including a review of pricing history, workflow analysis, committee support and practices, and cost-recovery and pricing allocation formulas.
A Feasibility Study for Establishing System-wide E-journal Contracts for a state university system that evaluated the advantages of establishing centralized e-journal contracts with major journal publishers, with CDygert Solutions subsequently negotiating a state-wide contract with a major STEM publisher on the system’s behalf.
For all of the projects above, CDygert Solutions provided reports that included real-world, actionable recommendations to serve as roadmaps for the future.
