Library Consortia

Overview
CDygert Solutions brings a wealth of experience working with library consortia to the table. Claire Dygert served for over ten years as director of E-Resources and Digital Services for the Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC), which provides services to the libraries in Florida’s public higher educational system.
Examples of the projects we have conducted with library consortia include:
A Membership Value Study and Dues Allocation Review for a large academic library consortium to assess the value that members receive from centralized services, and how that value translates to membership dues. A study of dues formulas at comparative consortia was undertaken to develop and model alternative and modernized member dues formula.
A 360ᵒ Consortium Assessment for a consortium of nine public libraries that included an evaluation of the value the consortium had for members, the effectiveness of its current governance, operational, and financial infrastructure, the locally run courier service, management of the shared integrated library system (ILS), and the potential for developing a digital resources program.
A Review of a Statewide Electronic Resource Acquisition Program which investigated the effectiveness of a large, statewide electronic resource purchasing program, including a review of pricing history, workflow analysis, committee support and practices, and cost-recovery and pricing allocation formulas.
For all of the projects above, CDygert Solutions provided reports that included real-world, actionable recommendations to serve as roadmaps for the future.
